Information, not advice

Finance Notch is a publisher. It is not a bank, lender, broker, investment adviser, tax adviser or payment institution, and it is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority or registered with the SEC or FINRA. Nothing on this site is a personal recommendation. Every figure carries the date it was read from the provider; terms change, sometimes daily, and the provider’s own documents always take precedence over anything published here. Investments can fall as well as rise. Deposit protection depends on the provider holding your money, which is why each listing names it.

Check before you sign up

  • Read the provider’s current pricing and terms. Ours are dated, and theirs may have changed since.
  • Check who holds your money. In the US, look for the FDIC-insured bank named in the provider’s terms. In the UK, check the firm on the FCA Register and whether your money is a deposit covered by the FSCS or e-money that is safeguarded instead.
  • For tax, pensions or investment decisions, consider advice from someone regulated to give it, such as a CPA or enrolled agent in the US, or an FCA-authorised adviser or chartered accountant in the UK.

Investments and credit

The value of investments can go down as well as up, and you may get back less than you put in. Past performance is not a guide to the future. Credit products cost money if you miss payments, and late payments can be reported to credit bureaus or reference agencies. Nothing here promises an improvement in any credit score.
